Covid-19 or Coronavirus is a global pandemic that has become
an invisible enemy. More than 200 large and small countries have been attacked
by this deadly virus, including Indonesia. However, Rudi S. Kamri, a well-known social and political observer in Indonesia, who is also an activist and actively writes on social media, has an amazing perspective on Covid-19.
On this occasion you can read this interesting article in
full, so we'll get a different experience, which may be unique. The uniqueness of this article is caused by the cultural background of Rudi who really loves Indonesia.

Optimism and Wisdom Due to Coronavirus
By:
Rudi S Kamri
What lessons can we learn from the disaster of Covid-19,
which has killed over two million people and hundreds of thousands of people
died? Some say that disasters remain disasters, we must deal with them, and handle them without having to find out if there are any lessons we can learn.
I actually think otherwise. There is always wisdom behind
a disaster. When God gives a warning in the form of any event, there must be a purpose. We take an example, the tragedy of the earthquake and
tsunami that struck Aceh on December 26, 2004, which caused the death of around
250 thousand people.
Can we imagine there will be peace between the Government
of Indonesia and the Free Aceh Movement (GAM), which led to the signing of the
Helsinki MOU on August 15, 2005. Could it have happened without a tsunami? For
me the greatest blessing of the Aceh tsunami tragedy is the creation of peace
in Aceh, which we feel is very real to this day. There is always wisdom behind
a disaster.
Also there is a non-natural tragedy of coronavirus
outbreak, which we know as Covid-19. For Indonesia to date, more than 5,000
people have been detected positively exposed by Covid-19. And may still be
growing. What lessons can we learn:
FIRST
The government must have a 'contingency plan' strategy or
planning guidelines to deal with unexpected events. And this looks not perfect,
so there are many officials who seem to still stutter in the face of Covid-19.
Coordination between officials and government agencies is also poor. And this
is a big homework that must be completed by the government.
SECOND
The community has become very aware of health. At present, it is seen that people always wear masks everywhere. Exercise every morning or
evening. A rare sight we encountered before in this country. And many people
start to get used to a healthy and clean lifestyle. They bathe at least 2
times, wash their hand's dozens of times a day. They also clean the house with
disinfectants inside and outside the house. In fact, if we remember well, if
there was no Covid-19, maybe we don't need to wash our hands like now. Also
wear a mask and spray around our house with disinfectant?
It is still necessary. Because every day, every time,
viruses are everywhere around us. Hopefully this healthy and clean lifestyle
will be maintained even though the corona disaster has passed.
THIRD
The revival of the soul of social solidarity and the
sharing of sufficient society with our brothers and sisters who need help.
Regardless of religious background, political preferences, and other
differences, the social movements of the people, known as the motto: By the
people and for these people, continue to move massively and will not be unstoppable.
This is the true identity and DNA of this nation. Social and mutual cooperation
(gotong royong).
FOURTH
With this corona outbreak all family members have more
time to meet, interact, and gather. This is a rare thing, which we rarely did
before. During this time we are busy with our respective activities. We rarely
meet our parents or children. For me this is a great blessing.
FIFTH
Because of this corona outbreak, the environment around
us is becoming cleaner, air pollution is much reduced, and the sky is becoming
brighter and bluer. This is an extraordinary event, which we should be grateful
for.
There are no accidental events in this world without
God's will. Even though many of our citizens have become victims, our economy
has declined more, but we must continue to be positive about the horizon of
life in front of us. We are still fortunate to be given a life that we can
enjoy.

We hope that this disaster will soon pass. But we also
hope that our habits during this disaster such as healthy and clean lifestyles
will remain as habits. Likewise, in the spirit of sharing, we maintain the
intensity of relationships between families forever. These good habits will
hopefully become a new culture for our great nation.
Likewise, in the practice of bureaucratic management, and
coordination between Government officials will hopefully be better in the
future. Another 'blessing' is for President Jokowi, so because of this national
disaster, he can see clearly about the officials who must be replaced as soon
as possible, and which officials must remain in their positions.
There is always wisdom behind a disaster. A small thing
that I experienced, I can manage my finances better. Because for me this
disaster is NOT a sprint race but a marathon. We must maintain stamina at the
start, maintain endurance, and manage our breath wisely, so that we are not
tired, and exhausted when we reach the finish line.

In the following broadcast, Rudi S. Kamri also called for
a solidarity movement to overcome the Coronavirus.
Apparently, Rudi's article is extremely valuable to share with friends and loved ones who are members of our social media. It is essential to deal with the Coronavirus wisely.
